Circuit Breaker – Troubleshooting

To troubleshoot an issue with circuit breakers, there are multiple steps that can be taken:

  1. Locate your circuit breaker box, which is typically located in a utility room, garage, or basement.
  2. Look for the main circuit breaker switch. This is usually a large switch that controls power to the entire house.
  3. Identify the breaker switch that corresponds to the room or area where you are experiencing power loss. The switch may be labeled with the name of the room or circuit it controls.
  4. Check the position of the switch. If it is in the middle position, it has tripped and needs to be reset. Simply switch it to the “off” position and then back to “on”.
  5. If the issue is still present, it may be a more serious issue. Please place a request in your Residence Portal (provide as much information as possible to help us expedite the repair and maintenance).
  6. Never touch electrical panels or wiring if you are not sure of what you are doing or if you are feeling unwell.
